Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Sickinger has been an athlete his whole life. His interest in sports accompanied him throughout his education and ultimately led him into the medical profession where he became a Sports/Musculoskeletal Board Certified Physician.
Dr. Sickinger attended San Diego State University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude obtaining bachelor’s degrees in both Kinesiology and Cell Biology. After, he graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where he finished in the top 25% of his class. He excelled in his Internship, and after was appointed Co-Chief of his residency program in Long Beach, California. Dr. Sickinger was selected into the prestigious University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine.
His medical interests include minimally invasive ultrasound guided procedures, as well as orthobiologics.
Dr. Sickinger is married to his beautiful wife Dr. Maryam Sickinger; They have two lovely children and enjoy many outdoor activities in the southern California climate.
Dr. Burman is a graduate of Arizona State University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology. Afterwards, she received her medical degree (and Masters in Administration) from the University of Medicine Health Sciences in St. Kitts. Her residency was completed in Internal Medicine at Northside Hospital near Atlanta, Georgia. She then furthered her expertise in the musculoskeletal system by completing a Sports Medicine fellowship at Eisenhower Health in California.
Before becoming double board certified, Dr. Burman was an elite cyclist for the US National Downhill team for an astonishing 15 seasons! Over that time, she was the 2005 USAC (USA Cycling) National Pro Downhill Champion, the 2002 USAC National Pro Mountain Cross Champion, the 2008 4-X World Champion, NMBS DH Champion, and the NMBS 4-X Champion.
Dr. Burman’s medical interests include non-operative orthopedics that focuses on preservation of musculoskeletal health through proper biomechanics, lifestyle and when needed non-operative interventions.
In her free time, she loves to travel, be outdoors with her family, and go biking/hiking.
